  This Symposium is the 13th in the series of international meetings organised by the International Isotope Society every 3 years. Since the beginning of the new millennium the scientists from many diverse fields related to the use of isotopes and isotopically labelled compounds have met in Dresden, Germany (2000), Boston, Massachusetts, USA (2003), Edinburgh, Great Britain (2006), Chicago, Illinois, USA (2009), Heidelberg, Germany (2012) and Princeton, New Jersey, USA (2015). The Local Organising Committee is determined to do its best to preserve the high quality of the series despite the unlucky ordinal number of the Prague 2018 meeting. On behalf of the organisers – the International Isotope Society, the Central European Division of the International Isotope Society and the Local Organizing Committee, I would like to invite you to reserve June 3rd – 7th 2018 in your agenda for the presentation of your latest achievements and for discussions with your colleagues from across the world whether you work in the field of drug development, body imaging and diagnostics, production of radioisotopes or stable isotopes, environmental studies, development of radiometric techniques or any new field of the application of isotopes and isotopically labelled compounds.
