Еhe group has embarked upon a systematic implementation of the program in all participating countries, with regular priority-setting and reporting every two years at the ministerial and practitioner levels. The discussions in Dhaka took stock of the results of the second biannual implementation phase (2013-2014), with focus on priority of actions, key performance indicators and best practices in tiger conservation. They also planned a way forward for enforcement, habitat protection, community and business involvement, trans-boundary cooperation, population recovery, and baseline monitoring. The range countries and partners proposed ten recommendations in Dhaka on the basis of the ministerial agenda adopted in 2012 in Thimphu, Bhutan and, after discussion and amendments, the final Dhaka Recommendations were adopted. “We are more than three years into the Global Tiger Recovery Program,” said Prime Minister Hasina. “I believe we have arrived at a turning point to reach our desired goals of protecting tigers. We have to take steps reviewing our previous activities and renewing our plans, activities and implementation strategies.”
