  The International Seminar on Negotiating Culture - New Frontiers in Translation and Language Learning was organised by the Department of Foreign Languages, Gauhati University in collaboration with Institute of South Asian Studies, Russian State University for Humanities, Moscow, Russia. Its main purpose was to discuss two main issues: 1)the problems of translation of Indian literatures into Russian and Russian literature into various Indian languages;2) New methods of language teaching in India and Russia.
