  The general scope of the workshop is to present and discuss the frontiers in the mechanics ofcontrolled machines and structures. As with the previous editions of this workshop, the main overallobjective is to proceed with and further foster the longstanding cooperation between research teamsnot only from Austria, Japan and Russia but also from other countries; the latter will be enabledby the participation of widely renowned scientists from Europe, Taiwan and the U.S.A. We expectthat the participation of about 30 leading scientist from these countries will lead to fruitful scientificdiscussions among them and to a further deepening of long-lasting cooperations and friendships.
