  The objective of the conference is to bring together scientists with interests in the theoretical, applied, and computational aspects of hyperbolic partial differential equations (systems of hyperbolic conservation laws, wave equations, etc.) and of related mathematical models (PDEs of mixed type, kinetic equations, nonlocal or/and discrete models, etc.) that appear in the area of applied sciences. The conference was first held 1986 in St. Etienne (France) and has been organized since then biennially at different locations all over the world: 2014 Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), 2012 Padua (Italy), 2010 Beijing (China), 2008 College Park (U.S.A.), 2006 Lyon (France), etc. The conference consists of plenary and invited lectures (with pairs of invited lectures being held in parallel), and of sessions of contributed talks covering various aspects of the field.
