With computers progress the modern techniques of maps creation have got general application, practically removed classic technology of compilation, design and pre-press of maps. The approach to designing of maps and atlases is changing and the jump to a higher level of creative activities – systematic designing is realized. One of its basic principles is the consideration of cartographical product as a system including structural elements, each of them, related to an integrated system as subsystem. Considering the atlas or map as a system at design creation we should take into account all factors, which manner influence on design process. With the greatest probability this system will allow to guarantee a final result, combined thus, utility (usefulness of information receive, effectiveness, ergonomics) and aesthetics (capability to excite positive emotions and associations). Thus, the system design is a perspective direction of organization of integral map creation process
