In two experiments we used eye-tracking technology to analyze the process of search for target visual stimulus (icons) among similar graphics. The results revealed a dependence of search efficiency and eye-movement characteristics of a number of parameters, which included: well- or weak-defined search task, related to the format of presentation of the search target; physical parameters of the presentation, such as round or square form of the icons, their spatial localization.
