Despite the great number of methods of producing of activated carbon from vegetable material now available in literature searching of new ways of obtaining of activated carbon with a programmed set of characteristics and with lower energy consuming is still in progress. While investigating the technology of carbonization and activation of carboneous materials (nut shells, fruit and cherry pits, pine wood, birch wood and other vegetable material) we observed that pretreatment of starting material preceding carbonizations plays the decisive role. The data obtained is the point of this paper
