Graphite intercalation compounds (GIC) with metal chlorides are interesting objects for synthesis of new ternary bi- or co-intercalated compounds especially with liquid intercalates under room temperatures. GIC with metal chlorides are usually obtained by interaction between graphite and vapors of metal chloride in the presence of chlorine excess. This process occurs at 300-600 oC providing stability of such compounds at room temperature . This work is devoted to the study of intercalation of GIC-FeCl3 with nitric acid and tetrahydrofuran.
