The aim of the presentation is to compare the efficiency of remediation practices of technogenic barrens, to evaluate opportunities to enhance the landscape restoration practices and reduce environmental impacts of nickel-copper mining and smelting in two northern industrial regions: Sudbury, Ontario, Canada and Kola Peninsula, Russia.
