The presentation considers the concept of a responsible leader in the context of contemporary reality and the role of educational institutions in developing future leaders. The role of a business school is seen much deeper than a pure provision of relevant professional knowledge. Its mission is to make an impact on the behavior of its students and through them transform business attitudes. Whether managers and leaders are responsible or not is of great importance. Responsible leaders should deliver value to a broad range of stakeholders, not just to their companies. They need to take into account the interests of society as a whole. Responsible leaders must not drain the planet's resources and jeopardize the ability of future generations to have decent lives. What also matters is whether they open windows for new opportunities, not only for their companies but also for the society as a whole. That is how one can distinguish responsible from irresponsible. The presentation describes the philosophy and methodology developed by Lomonosov Moscow State University Business School at all levels of its educational programs to foster responsibility in its students.
