This work is focused on the investigations of the Yb:YAl3(BO3)4 thin film grown by liquid phase case, x, the Yb doping concentration, varies from 5 to 15 at.%. A series of interrupted growth experiments have been used to demonstrate the various stages of Yb:YAB thin films growth depending on the supersaturation and the duration of growth experiments. The homogeneity, composition and micromorphology of Yb:YAB thin films were studied by the analytical scanning electron microscope (ASEM) JSM-5300m + Link ISIS microprobe analyzer CAMECA SX50. The homogeneity of obtained monolayers depends on the composition, supersaturation, temperature of the fluxed melt and substrates quality. In summery, comparative data on Yb:YAB thin film crystallization under different conditions and corresponding measurements are presented.
