In the paper the results of laboratory tests on mechanical properties of rock samples obtained through different investigation techniques are presented. The collection of 7 samples characterized by different lithology was analyzed by the following methods: triaxial loading tests with analysis of both stress-strain curves and elastic waves' propagation; ultrasonic surveys carried out under normal conditions with varied frequency; impulse excitation technique based on vibration behavior of the material, measuring the resonant frequencies and their damping (loss-factor) on a non-destructive basis. Application of these methods provided the estimation of mechanical properties of the rock samples characterized by physical processes of different spatial and time scale. The obtained results make it possible to analyze the changes in elastic moduli corresponding to rescaling of mechanical properties model increasing the quality of effective medium theory models widely used in geomechanical modeling.
