Nowadays, the chemistry of stable tetrylenes (heavier analogous of carbenes) is beginning to arouse interest due to its synthetic potential and industrial application. In accordance with their novel structures and electron configurations, some recently reported heavier Group 14 element compounds show unprecedented reactivity and are believed to have potential applications in catalysis, bond activation and small molecule activation. A key factor for stabilization of the low-valence centre, as well as for use in catalysis, is the structure of the ligand. During the research, it was found that the ligand must meet the following requirements: a) a tridentate ligand forming two covalent bonds and one coordination bond with the metal atom, b) the presence of bulky groups in the ligand molecule in close proximity to the metal atom. Among a sufficiently large set of diverse ligands, 1,4,7-trisubstituted 1,4,7-triazaheptans occupy a special place, which meet both requirements for ligands. The purpose of this work is to synthesize tetrylenes based on tridentate N, N, N-type ligands with donor groups at the nitrogen atoms, in order to observe the complexes by various physicochemical methods (NMR spectroscopy, elemental analysis, X-ray analysis), and the polymerization activity of the synthesized compounds in the ring- opening polymerization of cyclic esters.
