The service properties of calcium carbonate are being studied intensely in connection with the application of calcium-carbonate-based building materials, the development of carbonate oil collectors, etc. Therewith, it is necessary to take into account not only the initial mechanical characteristics of carbonate materials, but also the diverse effects of aqueous media present on the surface or in the structural defects of marble, limestone, or chalk. Most radical effects are observed under the conditions of pressure solution (PS). The aim of this work was to elucidate the possible influence of surfactants adsorption on the PS rate of calcite powder.
