If you want to understand the Russian economic system and the logic of reforms, you need to get acquainted not only with Russian scientists who rely on the traditions of Western economic thought, but with little-known Russian thinkers in the West, like I. T. Pososhkov. His work is interesting to study in order to understand the logic of the development of Russian economic thought. Ivan Pososhkov (1652-1726) was the first Russian economist who created a complete system of views on the sources, essence and factors of growth of society's wealth. I. Pososhkov had no connection with Western scientific, philosophical and religious traditions. According to the texts of his treatises, it can be argued that all his ideas have a traditionally Russian nature. They are rooted in Orthodoxy, they are influenced by the ideas of old believers, the Eastern tradition of autocracy, Domostroy. At the same time, many of the economic concepts of I. Pososhkov on an intuitive, empirical level, at the level of common sense are in tune with the Western directions of socio - political thought of the XYII-XYIII -XIX centuries. Ivan Pososhkov was a peasant, but engaged in crafts and trade. He was an enterprising, energetic man who managed to make a fortune through his own ingenuity. He was an entrepreneur, in the sense suggested by R. Cantillon, J. B. Say, and Y. Schumpeter. He used the opportunities provided by the reforms of Peter the Great for the development of the economy and military Affairs. All his enterprises were private, but he offered services to the state, worked for the state order. Pososhkov participated in the production of money for the new system of monetary circulation in Russia. Pososhkov was self-taught, came from an Orthodox family. He received a primary religious education. Pososhkov was well aware of Orthodox religious literature and was engaged in the interpretation of complex religious problems. He wrote treatises on topical issues, which he tried to reveal in a complex way: from the political, economic, ethical and religious side. His main works include: "the Book of poverty and wealth" (1724, published in 1842), as well as "father's Will", "On military behavior" (published in 1842). I. Pososhkov's theories present the basis of the Russian style of research on wealth and its growt
