Contemporary English language teaching needs to take into account all the new developments in the area of information sharing and communication techniques. And yet this does not mean that the whole data set of a traditional English language teacher should change. Obviously there is a necessity to introduce the most important dichotomy that will allow to remain on a firm ground of language sharing between people of different cultures and of different backgrounds. This dichotomy includes two poles: 1) the English we speak WITH and 2) the English we speak ABOUT. It is more than obvious that the avalanche of the most modern forms of expression, neologisms and unusual turns of phrase cannot find a place in language 49 courses. It will definitely be wrong and will lead nowhere. And yet, a teacher cannot exclude them from the scope of his or her teaching materials whatsoever. Definitely a lot of work should be done to teach the students easily replace unusual forms of expression found in modern books and publications — with the more recurrent, clean in terms of style and connoitation forms and phrases. This is to a certain degree "restricted English" because it does not allow a speaker go into many details and shades of meaning. But it holds communication always within the framework of the most predictable semantic and stylistic framework. A teacher should broadly rely on monolingual dictionaries for the language of the definitions and also on the wide and easily attainable libraries of reports and publications of materials of international conferences, forums and seminars, where people do everything they can to reduce expression to the acceptable international standards. Besides, the neutral, unmarked material could be found in some forms of journalisms and science popular publications provide a wide variety of most acceptable forms of expression and language suitable for a foreign learner of English.
