The pandemic 2020 has necessitated a rapid transfer of the education system to a distance format. Apart from highlighting a number of significant challenges it has also provided an invaluable experience. As shown by practice, implementation of assessment in conditions of full-time distance learning has become one of the most important issues of teaching foreign languages. The article provides an analysis of continuous and final assessment practices in the process of teaching French to students of the School of Public Administration, Moscow State Lomonosov University.
