Altai caves became homeland for Neanderthals who seemed to be various from morphological point of view. The most “Neanderthal-like” could be inhabitants of Chagyrskaya cave. In opposite, anatomy of Neanderthals from Denisova cave was archaic and unique. The group from Okladnikov cave demonstrated combination of “Neanderthal-typical” and more archaic features. These results can be previously interpreted as indication of different waves and roots of Neanderthal migration to Central Asia or as evidence of different level of hybridization with archaic parallel humanities, like Denisovans.
