Teapot Dome is an asymmetric doubling plunging, basement-cored. Created as result of Compressive forces of the Laramide Orogeny. Folding is developed predominantly through vertical basement uplift. Folds asymmetry indicates some horizontal displacement occurred along the basement thrust fault. As a result three sets of fractures are established respect to the fold hinge: oblique striking, subparallel striking, perpendicular striking. Core analysis on well show aeolian sandstone fine grained well-sorted quartz arenite cemented primarily with dolomite, and presence of anhydrite nodules also. Formed in a dry aerodynamically controlled system that was preserved by marine flooding events. Top of Tensleep Formation is an unconformity. Reservoir thickness of Teapot Dome 250 feet. The purpose of fracture modeling was to create simulation properties for matrix and fractures to predict reservoir behavior. Properties that describe permeability and porosity for fractures as well as the standard permeability and porosity from the matrix, also determined the permeability anisotropy in the model. Natural fractures introduce high heterogeneity or strong anisotropy in reservoirs and affected fluid flow or mechanical stability.
