The work by Antonio de Morga Events on the Philippine Islands (Sucesos de las islas Filipinas, 1609) is one of the most important sources on the history of the Spanish conquering the Philippines and establishing in the archipelago. The account covers the period between 1590 and 1606 years offering the most detailed description of the situation on the Philippine islands of that time. The account consists of eight chapters. Its chapters from the first to the seventh present a chronicle of the reigns of the eleven Spanish governors-general, the eighth chapter gives a description of nature and indigenous people of the Philippines. Thus, the account is of a great value for studying the history and ethnography of the Philippines. It has never been translated into Russian before. The translation and research of the Sucesos de las islas Filipinas started in 2014. The account and also relevant letters have been translated from Spanish by Olga Dementievskaya. The investigation of the account has been done by the author of this report
