Benzo[e][1,2,4]triazinyl radicals, i.e., Blatter radicals, have undergone vigorous developments over the last decade. Blatter radicals are finding applications in magnetic materials and as sensors, spin labels, and liquid crystals. They have even been proposed as potential qubits for quantum computing and have evolving applications in polymer and small molecule synthesis. To further advance the chemistry of Blatter radicals, their difluoro derivatives 1 and 2 were prepared and completely characterized.
