In the south of the European part of Russia there are the unique natural ecosystems dry subtropical of the Black Sea coast, that have conserve the biological diversity of natural ecosystems of the northeastern Mediterranean. For their protection in the spurs of the Western Caucasus (Abrau Peninsula) the Utrish reserve, was created which is the member of in the World Natural Heritage Site "Western Caucasus". Within the reserve the whole a number of priority areas for habitat protection EUNIS is singled out.
