In this study, electrical resistivity tomography has been used to locate the optimal positions for water drainage wells within a gypsum and anhydrite quarry area. The raw material opencast mining is conducted below the groundwater table and there is a need in a permanent water pumping out. As the existing drainage well has been recently collapsed, new wells position need to be discovered. Results demonstrate how ERT can help solve such a problem in the presence of buried karst.
