In the presentation I speak on the online project on world Englishes in which four universities participated – East Carolina University (USA), Covenant University (Nigeria), Krosno State College (Poland), and Lomonosov Moscow State University (Russia). The course includes both inclass and link lectures, discussions, and student projects. Working in an international team, the students were able to get to know some theoretical basis of the WE paradigm, do their own research into the impact of English on their own culture, compare this impact with the situation in other cultures, and have real life communication with speakers of other Englishes. Challenges in the course organization are also discussed.
