Abstract. The simple mechanism of formation of the grooves on surface of Phobos is developed and physically reasonable. This mechanism ex-plains formation of the grooves by the movement of boulders under the influence of additional centrifugal forces, which appear at non-stationary rotation from strong noncentral strikes on the Phobos large meteorites. It is shown that on the surface of Phobos, which is covered with a deep layer of regolith, the centrifugal force can only move a fairly large blocks, but sand and gravel remain in place. The criterion of the movement of big blocks which "plow" a surface of the Phobos is received. This centrifugal mechanism is universal and it can be used to an explanation of furrows on other small asteroids.
