The article and report analyses the development of relations between the BRICS countries and focuses on its impact on the capabilities of Russian and South African universities to promote the development of entrepreneurship in their respective countries using their respective university links, their businesses and local communities. Based on the analysis of the demographic characteristics of the business environment within Russia and South Africa, specific proposals have been developed for cooperation between the universities of Russia and South Africa, specifically in the fields regarding the development of applied entrepreneurial education. A special role in the article concerns the use of the Russian experience of involving women in entrepreneurship, since Russia ranks 1st in the world according to the share of women - managers (more than 50%) and 4th in the world of Female entrepreneurs (more than 32%) .
