- Описание: Family planning is a conscious effort of couples or individuals to control the number and spacing of births. Other terms used to denote this area of knowledge are birth control, fertility regulation, planned parenthood etc. The terms imply general reproductive strategy and may not be reduced solely to contraception and family limitation. Historically family planning is a tool used by populations to limit their growth. It appears in Europe in the form of European type of marriage, i.e., later marriage and significant proportion of never married. Modern family planning is deliberate control of births within family and marriage. It appeared together with demographic explosion, when fast population growth became a barrier to economic growth and led many nations to poverty. Many family planning programs had been introduced worldwide. They provided family planning services which are defined as educational, comprehensive medical or social activities which enable individuals, including minors, to determine freely the number and spacing of their children and to select the means by which this may be achieved. Assisted reproductive technologies are another facet of family planning, they help people unable to conceive to have children.
