In the article is devoted second analys of Karl Polanyi's work "The Great Transformation. The political and economic origins of our time. " The foundations of modern liberal-market thinking, the concept of "market" and the commodity status of fictitious goods are problematized in it. The history of the formation of the market economy as a political project and social catastrophe is considered in detail. The performative nature of the production of markets and the peculiarities of the functioning of fictitious goods markets through the subordination of social relations to the imperatives of market logic and consequences are determined: the growth of social inequality, dehumanization and deterioration of the ecological situation. Based on the application of the analytical theory of Polanyi to the current situation, an analogy between the industrial revolution and robotization is made, and the main theses are formulated to prevent a repetition of the social catastrophe in the future.
