Аннотация:The paper presents results on theoretical and experimental study of a new method of optical image processing based on a two-dimensional acousto-optic filtration of the spatial spectrum of images. Most attention is concentrated on the analysis of the acousto-optic cell transfer function form in dependence on the crystal cut, the geometry of acousto-optic interaction and the ultrasound frequency. Results of the computer simulation of the acousto-optic spatial filtration are illustrated by the example of an object in the form of an amplitude grating. Experiments on the investigation of the transfer functions of acousto-optic cells with the collinear and tangential geometry of acousto-optic interaction are described. The facility of acousto-optic image processing is experimentally demonstrated by the example of the edge enhancement effect for some of elementary images.
