The article represents a comparative study of political pattern and spacial landscape of electoral behavior in Japan and USA. The comparative analysis of geographical features of electoral systems of the two countries, drastically different both by political system, maturity of the democratic institutions and spacial structure and cultural characteristics and mentality has been carried out for the first time in the science of our country and in the world electoral geography as well. After analyzing the party systems and political patterns of the two countries the authors compare the specifics of political support in Japan and USA and conclude that their electoral landscapes are much alike. Projecting American experience onto Japan the argue that in case of the formation of the stable two-party system (at which Japan is aiming) there will be seen the same trends as in USA, and adoption of the American political experience can help to raise the effectiveness of political system despite the cultural differences of these countries.
