Аннотация:The patterns ontophylogenetic change of the brachidium (main part of inner structures) in
Late Paleozoic, Mesozoic, and Cenozoic terebratulids are analyzed. The ontogenetic changes of
the main types of brachidium development of terebratulids are revealed. The differences in the
brachidium developmental changes appear early in ontogeny within the superfamilies. This is the
basis for establishing ancient roots and possible relationships of the large taxa and elaboration of
the well-founded classification of the order Terebratulida. The study of the relations of the initial
brachidial structures (vertical and ascending plates) and their relation with the septum in the
process of development revealed regularities in these relations of superfamilies from Late
Paleozoic up to recent. The first data on relationships between the Late Paleozoic and Mesozoic
terebratulids were obtained and the groups that survived after the global crisis on the Paleozoic-
Mesozoic boundary were distinguished. The ontophylogenetic research the last half century by
the Russian scientists contributed to the construction of the sufficiently well-founded
classification of the order Terebratulida and creation of the schemes of phylogenetic relationship
of Phanerozoic terebratulids.
