- Аннотация: Online dictionaries and corpora demonstrate a growing productivity of suffix –free in modern English usage. New words in –free appear in the media and mirror global problems we are facing today: political, economic, social, environmental, etc. Scientific discourse registers words that describe conditions and contexts of scholarly research. Texts of fiction reveal the expressive potential of occasional words. Systematic usage of the productive word-building pattern allows us to single out a new lexical morphological category – the category of well-being, or safe environment.
