Двуязычие в стране – факт, который нужно принять": персидский язык, миноритарные языки и диалекты остана Фарс в социолингвистической панораме современного Иранастатья
Аннотация:In this study we attempt to analyze some aspects of the language planning and policy in such a multicultural and multiethnic country as Iran of today. Despite of its linguistic diversity, with several languages used by millions of native speakers and tens of minority languages and dialects, Persian remains the language of textbooks and classroom instructions and dominates the educational system. It concerns millions of bilingual children suffering from inadequate communication skills.
However, officially the use of regional and ethnic languages is allowed in the media, so as the teaching of their literature in schools as well. In practice, some varieties are freely and largely used in television and radio news, newspapers, in internet. Others, due to the lack of prestige, are seriously endangered. This situation represents a serious challenge for the authorities that should maintain the national unity and, at the same time, need to respect the rights of the minority ethnic groups recognizing the existence of bilingualism in the country and the importance of the problems that it causes.
In this article some basic principles of the Iranian language planning and policy are described to make clear a certain ambiguity in the language attitudes toward the dialects and minority language varieties that are perceived as a national treasury but sometimes tend to loose significant shares of the Iranian language space.
