Аннотация:Regional diversity and correlations between heliogeomagnetic activity and the cyclones originating over the Mediterranean Sea were analyzed. Recorded cyclone data from 1986 to 1988 on day to day ground and satellite observations of the Black and Mediterranean seas were utilized. 135 cyclones were formed within the period of three years, the most dynamic cyclogenesis taking place over the Ligurian Sea. These cyclones would wander over the Balkans and the Aegean Sea, and then eastward through Asia Minor and the Near East and northeastward to the European part of the Commonwealth of Independent States. Some of the factors considered for cyclone generation were the interplanetary magnetic field, solar wind, sun spots crossing the solar disk and geomagnetic events.
