Аннотация:The instability of an electron-beam-controlled non-self-maintained discharge in the mixture CO2:N2:He = 1:7:8 was investigated experimentally. The uniformity of the medium was monitored with the help of an image converter. The temperature of the gas was measured with the help of an interferometer. The evolution of the current and temperature of the discharge are compared with the results of calculations performed on the basis of the model of a uniform, non-self-maintained, volume discharge and a one-dimensional model, which includes the equations of gas dynamics. The effect of oxygen and water impurities on the stability of the discharge is discussed.
