- Аннотация: Current diatom taxonomy was suggested by Round et al. (1990) almost thirty years ago. D.G.Mann created a new order Cymbellales D.G. Mann 1990 and included to it four families. These are Rhoicospheniaceae Chen & Zhu 1983, Anomoeoneidaceae D.G. Mann 1990, Cymbellaceae Greville 1833 and Gomphonemataceae Kützing 1844. According to Round et al. (1990) family Cymbellaceae included five genera that were known for that time: Placoneis Mereschkowsky, Cymbella Agardh, Brebissonia Grunow, Encyonema Kützing and Gomphocymbella O. Müller. Including Placoneis to this family was very interesting for that time because previously species from this genus were placed to the large genus Navicula Bory sensu lato on the basis of naviculoid symmetry. Round et al. (1990) postulated that on the basis of frustule and protoplast characters this genus closely related to Cymbella and Gomphonema Ehrenberg. Later on, many new genera were described on the basis of splitting of such genera as Cymbella and Placoneis, like Afrocymbella Krammer, Cymbellopsis Krammer, Cymbopleura (Krammer) Krammer, Delicata Krammer, Encyonopsis Krammer, Gomphocymbellopsis Krammer, Oricymba Juttner, Krammer, Cox, Van de Vijver & Tuji, Paraplaconeis Kulikovskiy, Lange-Bertalot & Metzeltin, Pseudencyonema Krammer. Some new genera were described with postulating of close relationships with cymbelloid taxa like Khursevichia Kulikovskiy, Lange-Bertalot & Metzeltin, Ochigma Kulikovskiy, Lange-Bertalot & Metzeltin and Rexlowea Kociolek & Thomas (Kulikovskiy & Kuznetsova 2016, Kociolek et al. 2017). In this presentation, we will discuss the phylogeny of Placoneis and close related taxa. We will discuss the morphology of pore occlusion in different genera and its importance for taxonomy.
