Аннотация:During the recent five seasons (2015–2019) the Stavropol
expedition of the Department of Archaeology of the Faculty of History of the
Lomonosov Moscow State University has excavated nine mounds of the
Scythian elite kurgan named Novozavedennoye-III. Among the findings from
the graves there are zoomorphic products that are realized in the canons of the
so-called Scythian animal style. Synthetic image of «elk-goat» on gold plaques
and protomes of horses on bronze harness belong to the Scythian-Maeotian
school of animal style, which products were spread in the Central Caucasus and
even to the Southern Urals; on the contrary, the head of the predator on the horn
pin is connected eventually with the «Sauromatian» school of the Scythian-
Siberian animal style. All this testifies to the interaction of the community of the
Scythian elite burial mound Novozavedennoye-III with the population of the
territories of the Northern Black sea littoral, the Kuban region, the Lower Volga
and the Southern Urals.
