Аннотация:There seems to be a reasonable balance between negative neologisms that appear in the English language to present the most recent problems we are confronted with and positive words that propose actions to be taken. The coronavirus pandemic and urgent environmental issues continue to demand our attention. Lexical morphological category of well-being, or safe environment, allows us to produce positive derivatives from the names of the problems. Blends based on word play easily achieve humorous effect and help us respond to the challenges. While virtual communication uncovered some of the new manipulation techniques in online dating, social shifts in the real world emphasize attractive prospects for people in retirement. Changing gender roles have made the choice of grammatical words – personal pronouns – a sensitive issue. Seemingly neutral colour adjectives develop new meanings and connotations in new contexts.
