Аннотация:The SOFIA telescope detected infrared radiation in the area of the Clavius crater (58°37′ S, 14°44′ W) on the Moon during observations in 2018. It is assumed that it may be associated with the presence of water molecules in the regolith in this area.We investigated the illumination condition and temperature regimein the Clavius crater area. Our results show that the existence of water deposits on the surface is impossible in the area of the Clavius crater. This confirms the assumption that water molecules can be found in voids between regolith particles in the soil.
