Аннотация:Plane-wave acoustic scattering by a two-dimensional penetrable obstacle is simulated by the Discrete Sources Method (DSM) and the (standard) Method of Auxiliary Sources (MAS). Numerical results obtained from the two methods are compared with emphasis on the effect of shape elongation on the computed differential scattering cross section. The results are also compared with respect to those obtained from COMSOL Multiphysics implementing the Finite Element Method (FEM).
