- Аннотация: A paper describes results of studying thermal properties of the Bazhenov formation (West Siberian oil-gas region, Russia) with a new thermal core profiling technique. Thermal properties (thermal conductivity, specific and volumetric heat capacities) are basic physical properties of rocks and they are necessary for basin and petroleum system modeling, thermohydrodynamic modeling of thermal EOR methods, heat flow determination, and temperature logging data interpretation. For the first time, high-precision, high-resolution (1-2 mm), continuous, non-destructive, non-contact thermal core profiling along the Bazhenov formation wells presented a possibility of detailed studying a full set of thermal properties on all full-size core samples along wells. The developed technique gives qualitatively new opportunities for stratification of the Bazhenov formation, analysis of multi-scale rock heterogeneity, and analysis of rock thermal anisotropy. New correlations between thermal and other physical properties of rocks have been established from the combination of thermal profiling and standard petrophysical logging data that provides possibility for determination and high-resolution profiling of total organic content, geomechanical properties, acoustic anisotropy, natural radioactivity, density of oil shales just from thermal core profiling data.
