Аннотация:Let N_q be the number of solutions of the equation
a_1x_1^2+...+a_nx_n^2=bx_1...x_n
over the finite field F_q = F_{p^s}. L. Carlitz found formulas for N_q for n=3 and for n=4 and q ≡ 3 (mod 4). He also expressed N_q for n=4 and q ≡ 1 (mod 4) in terms of Jacobsthal sums. In all earlier paper, we found formulas for N_q when d=gcd(n-2, (q-1)/2)=1 or 2. In this paper, we find formulas for N_q when d=4 and
p ≠ 7 (mod 8); and when there exists an ℓ such that p^ ℓ ≡ -1 (mod 2d).
