- Аннотация: The aim of the present paper is to demonstrate that the fjords of mountainous coasts and the troughs on glaciated shelves were excavated by marine ice sheets and that the glacial erosion in these continental margins proceeded at high speed, i.e., at least an order of magbiyude higher than the rate of erosion in the interior parts of the continents. Another aspect of the same problem involves demonstating the laws governing the distribution od the products of erosion across the ocean bed and quantitative assessment of that distribution.
