ABSTRACT:
A study of chemical-biotic interactions in aquatic environment was conducted. Two research projects were successfully fulfilled. First, a productive analysis of ecosystem functions lead to a new conceptualization. According to this conceptualization, there is a fundamental analogy between function of aquatic ecosystems and functioning of a bioreactor with a unique function of water self-purification. Second, experimental studies of interactions of toxic metals with aquatic plants (macrophytes) generated useful results on the ability of macrophytes to decrease concentration of the toxic metals in water, which can be used in developing innovative biotechnology. The results of the both projects were published. These publications are well-cited. In this publication, an example of use and citations of one these publications by Chinese universities is given as another evidence of merit. Date: 03.03.2023. Pages 1 - 7.
