Аннотация:This paper is concerned with the study of the processes of melting volcanic rock in a cold-crucible
induction furnace in order to obtain a high melt bath and study its degassing. The results of experiments carried
out to assess the thermal stability of the melt, determine its energy characteristics, and study the melt
behavior at a current frequency of 5.28 MHz using a cold crucible with an inner diameter of 114 mm are presented.
As a result of the study, a volcanic-rock melt bath 0.64 m high was obtained with superforced operation
of a tube oscillator with a nominal oscillatory power of 60 kW and a current frequency of 5.28 MHz. The
obtained results open up new possibilities for studying the degassing and rheological properties of natural volcanic-
rock melts.
