Аннотация:In the study we have analyzed different cities of Russia according to their thermal conditions that influence public health. Three indexes were selected as the most commonly used in the world for the analysis of extreme events. Two of them are thermal indexes – Heat Index and Humidex and one index of cold stress – Wind Chill Temperature. These indexes are simple and universal in use, because the input values are only meteorological data. The study includes 115 cities in Russia with population over 100 000 people. For the calculation of the indexes we used daily meteorological data (2010-2014) of climatological stations located in urban centers. Technical implementation of the calculation of the indexes is presented in the form of an automated system. We have created the specialized software module that downloads weather data, verifies and selects the correct values and then calculates and builds up bioclimatic indexes in tabular and graphical form. The territory of Moscow was analyzed deeper because of the presence of «heat island» that influences the thermal conditions in the city. The results of calculations of indexes have showed the difference of the thermal conditions in the center and in the north of Moscow. The higher temperatures were observed in the city center. This effect was the most evident in summer. Generally the proportion of days with negative heat conditions was by 5-6% higher in the city center.
