Аннотация:Vortex-induced vibrations of an elastic circular cylinder were considered experimentally in wind tunnel. Maximum oscillationamplitude of an isolated cylinder was 0.36D (D = 6 mm is its diameter). It was shown before that placing of finite plates near a cylinder canlead to a decrease or an increase in the vibration amplitude depending on the cylinder position. In previous study for some plate withdimensions 35x2 mm the position of maximum amplification of vibration amplitude was found, and in this study, it was used to test plateswith different shapes. For a rectangular plate 15x2 mm the amplitude amplification up to 55% was obtained, and for a plate 15x4 mm – upto 80%. Tests with an elliptical plate 64x6 mm were shown the amplitude increase up to 32%. In all cases, a significant increase of lock-inrange was observed.
