- Аннотация: We present a brief personal and scientific biography of Professor N.G. Bochkarev (May 19, 1947 – December 24, 2022), illustrated with photographs from his family archive. He was an outstanding researcher in the fields of extragalactic astronomy, physics of in- terstellar medium, astrophysics of relativistic stars, archeoastronomy. N.G. Bochkarev was one of the main founders of the Eurasian Astronomical Society (EAAS) and one of the first co-chairmen of this Society. In 1991, he initiated publication of the EAAS sci- entific journal Astronomical and Astrophysical Transactions and remained its Editor- in-Chief till 2022.In 2023, a one-day scientific seminar dedicated to the memory of N.G. Bochkarev and an All-Russian conference “Physics of Interstellar Medium: From Local Cloud to Local Galaxies”, also commemorating N.G. Bochkarev, were held at the Sternberg Astronomical Institute. Papers presented at these meetings are published in the pre- vious issue (Volume 34, issue 2) and current issue of Astronomical and Astrophysical Transactions.
