Аннотация:Dynamics of an aerodynamic pendulum in steady airflow is studied using different modeling approaches: phenomenological models (quasi-steady approach and attached oscillator model) and modified discrete vortices method. It is shown that for forced harmonic oscillations of the pendulum and for its free oscillations results given by the attached oscillator model agree with data given by the modified discrete vortices method, and the applicability domain of the attached oscillator model is larger than that of the quasi-steady approach. Stability of the "along the flow” equilibrium is studied depending on system parameters. It is determined, in particular, that this equilibrium loses its stability when the moment of inertia of the pendulum increases, even if the rotation point is located upstream from the center of pressure.
